Among the novelties that Spring 2023 has brought to Morandini, there is also the complete update of their line of 100% compostable Nespresso® compatible capsules.
100% Compostable and recyclable. Caffè Morandini was a pioneer when, back in 2018, way in advance, the company invested in compostability for their single-serving products. Morandini’s new Nespresso® line has now been updated in materials and technology.
Thanks to compostable ‘ high-barrier ’capsules and lids, the precious ground coffee can now be sealed inside a protective atmosphere, without having to add a plastic flowpack externally to each capsule. This not only means that plastic waste is eliminated, but paper wasted is also reduced, as the capsules now occupy less space within the main packaging.
The new capsules are still certified OK COMPOST Industrial by TÜV AUSTRIA, thus ensuring they can be disposed of with organic waste without having to remove the coffee inside the capsule.
Updated style and offer. Morandini’s new Nespresso® line has a completely new look, perfectly in keeping with the trend initiated by the rebranding and the new design of the packaging (we have discussed this topic in a specific section). The line comprises 4 solutions: Oro, Morandini’s historical, award-winning 90% arabica blend, which has now been adapted to give an excellent result in capsule form; Supercrema, Morandini’s robusta blend, ideal for those who like a creamy and intense espresso; Biologico, a new single-origin, organic-certified, gourmet 100% Arabica, and a Decaf.
The capsules are packed in refined 10-piece cases with a side-opening, designed to be placed in elegant counter displays.
Packed internally. One of Caffè Morandini’s prerogatives has always been, since the very beginning, its attention to quality. The company has therefore decided not to outsource any of the sections of its single-serving packaging process: the capsules, just like our ESE pods, are packed on the company’s production site located in Esine, Province of Brescia, using specialized equipment, so that the company has complete and constant control over all the production phases, from the roasting to the packaging.
