ICT 2023: CAFFÈ MORANDINI AMONG THE 9 PRIZE-WINNING ITALIAN ROASTERIES, THE ONLY ONE IN LOMBARDY

The 2023 edition has collected and analysed 750 products coming from 14 different countries, and nine Italian companies are awarded the Gold Medal

The 2023 edition of the International Coffee Tasting, the international tasting competition held by IIAC (i.e. The International Institute of Coffee Tasters), has ended with the usual Gold Medal Winners’ Official Announcement.

After more than six months’ work and thanks to the support of 15 experts including sensorialists, baristas and project managers who have carefully examined 750 products from 14 countries, the well-deserved awards have been assigned only to those coffees which have distinguished themselves by their quality during what has been described as the “Contest’s largest edition ever”.

“Of all the products tested, only less than 25% obtained the Gold Medal” – stated Mr. Carlo Odello, President of IIAC, “a measure that places us among the most selective competitions in the Food & Beverage sector”.

“In total we have processed around 120,000 sensory data to arrive at statistically validated sensory profiles” – continued the President – “confirming to the market our nature as sensory analysis specialists”.
The International Coffee Tasting confirms itself as the international benchmark competition for the coffee-tasting industry. Each sample is assessed by trained and validated tasters who operate blind-folded and in compliance with the strictest sensory analysis rules, so that their judgments are objective and technically valid.

With the Gold Medal obtained by Maxima - 100% Arabica in the ‘Espresso’ category, Caffè Morandini has not only distinguished itself for succeeding in sitting at the table of the nine prize-winning Italian roasteries in this edition – out of more than 800 companies operating at national level - but also for being the only one located in Lombardy.

This is the company’s 18th Gold Medal, a confirmation of the great efforts put into strengthening a solid, quality-oriented vision, which has translated over time into a consistently top-level product.
